Students Encouraged to Register with a GP Before Arriving in Liverpool
Students heading to Liverpool this autumn are being encouraged to register with a GP as one of their first priorities before starting university.
Registering early means students will be able to access healthcare more quickly if they become unwell, rather than having to complete registration when they need an appointment. It is particularly important for students with long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, those who require regular medication, or anyone who may need ongoing support during their studies.
Brownlow Health works closely with universities and student support services across Liverpool, including hall wardens, tutors, international student services and university wellbeing teams, helping students access the care and support they need throughout their time at university.
Students registered with Brownlow Health can access a wide range of NHS services, including general medical care, mental health support, sexual and women's health services, gender-informed care, ADHD support, addiction services, vaccinations, long-term condition management and health advice. The practice also offers access to health and wellbeing coaches, who can support students with areas such as stress management, physical activity, healthy eating and overall wellbeing.
In addition, students can benefit from online services through the NHS App and Patient Access, allowing them to order repeat prescriptions, view parts of their health record and make administrative requests online.
